Johnson Matthey is one of the leading suppliers worldwide of platinum alloy products to the glass industry. Refractory cladding and furnace linings are available, including on-site welding where necessary. Also available are ZGS (Zirconia Grain Stabilised) platinum alloys, offering greater strength and longer working lives. Johnson Matthey also uses ACT® coating technology to deposit a thin layer of platinum onto ceramics to eliminate glass corrosion and improve glass quality.
